Northern Lower Michigan dry of ammo

1 Attachment(s)
well its official, Hell has frozen over, i went out for a weekend recon of ammo and found NONE of military calibers.Wal mart in Tawas and West branch, nada
no 30-06,308,223,(except some $26 box of 20 super premium hunting rounds and only a couple boxes) 7.62x39 or .30 carbine, absolutely no 9mm or 45 acp at all, Tractor supply had some 12 ga dove and quail loads, Pamida had nothing, they stopped selling ammo. even my trusty hardware/gunshop was out of everything except bolt action cartridges and one box of .30 carbine($35!) and revolver rounds, and not much of that either. they did have 4 boxes of 7.62x39 Wolf FMJ for $9.29 per box (I passed) and 1 box 30-06 UMC (which I did buy). did everyone go to the Birch Run show with all the ammo or what? tommorow im checking a Ojibwe Indian owned store near Standish which seems to always have a good supply and decent pricing, ill post my results. BTW Dunhams in Saginaw and Bay City both were out of most everything common as of Saturday. perhaps we should start an ammo exchange for items that may be dry in some areas vs others, I know 30-06 is EXTREMELY popular here in lower MI and 12 gauge is SOP in Illinois.

$10 for a box of 7.62 Wolf? Gross. That's pretty absurd, no 30-06.

Do you have any Gander Mountains in the northern LP? I just went to one in suburban Detroit the other day....they had pretty much everything in stock (incredibly high prices though).

There are many States were it is up for legitimate debate as to weather it will go Mad Max

Michigan and Detriot in particular is not.

It will be one of at least five epicenters that will burn to the ground

They better be buying ammo hand over fist.

Gypsy,

There was not much bulk ammo on Saturday at the Birch Run, MI gun show. You could find lots of specialty self defense ammo.....the little 20 round boxes...for $20+.....a few guys had 1 or 2 cases of 9mm or 45ACP FMJ.....$15/box - $20/box....my dad bought a few. There was no 380ACP in the entire place. Very little Mil Surplus.....

We have a very large gun shop here in the Flint Area (Davison, MI) = Williams....as in Williams Gun Sight Company.....they have been low/out of ammo for many weeks.... 2 Walmarts in Flint area are bone dry.

I've been hoarding away key components big time....but still would like some rifle and pistol bullets for reloading....and can't find anyting....even Midway USA has been on backorder/no order for many months.....might have to just go with the lead bullets I have for pistol and I can cast a bunch more if I want.....rifle = pretty much S.O.L. - need jacketed for any high velocity loads......

I've never seen this - guns without ammo are useless.....if a guy bought a new Glock....he might find some ammo.....in a few more weeks...I do not think there will be any to be found....

I'm sure they are manufacturing 7x24.....but there is such a panic - it is being bought instantly and in super large quantity....

There is a moral to the story to take away.......someday soon the same think will happen with the PMs!!!!!!

this isnt against you TA , Michigan will not go mad max, although they might battle the TPTB. The Detroit Metro area will im sure, with some smaller fires in Saginaw, Flint and GR. But most of you really do misunderstand this state of mine. Its mostly rural and self sufficient. the bulk of the population doesnt live in Urban areas.

Your Right I have a brother In Kalamazoo ..........He said his partcular area is very nice.

I was thinking about D town in particular with those monkey masquerading around as the council leadership. That city will literally implode on itself by time they are done.

It is beyond shameful.

Shame, shame, shame.

The UP will be free America when TSHTF. Just make sure that bridge is shut down to keep the zombies from crossing the drink.

As far as Ohio, I have a brother in law that bought his first gun, a G19, and he still can't find any ammo for it. This was a real eye opener for him.

The Detroit metro area is kinda like a donut

De-Toilet ( less than 900,000 ) is the hole (rotten to the core) surrounded by the mostly white middle class ( 4 - 5 million )suburbs ...when ...if TSHTF....there will be a period of unrest untill the gang bangers & nuckle dragers assume room tempiture.......:5_1_120:

The same will happen to Pontiac & Flint ......

Urban Renewal.......from the barrel of a gun ......

once this happens things will sort themselves out in a more orderly fashion:yes:

Also from Ohio and my first gun was a G19, I bought 2000+ rounds of HPs though right away for it. Been adding to the ammo stack since then.
